📄 Detailed Product English Description
Angiotensin II human acetate is a synthetic human‑sequence octapeptide hormone of the renin‑angiotensin‑aldosterone system (RAAS), supplied as acetate salt with non‑stoichiometric acetate counter‑ion. It is a white to off‑white lyophilized powder, freely soluble in water.
It exerts pharmacological effects mainly via binding to G‑protein‑coupled AT₁ receptors on vascular smooth‑muscle cells. Receptor activation triggers intracellular calcium mobilization, resulting in potent systemic vasoconstriction and elevation of systemic peripheral resistance, thereby raising arterial blood pressure. It also stimulates adrenal aldosterone secretion, promotes sodium and water retention, and enhances sympathetic nervous tone. AT₂‑receptor binding mediates counter‑regulatory vasodilatory and anti‑proliferative signals. Endogenous angiotensin II has an extremely short circulating half‑life (~15‑30 seconds); therefore the therapeutic drug must be administered by continuous intravenous infusion. The finished pharmaceutical product is a sterile injectable concentrate for dilution prior to infusion.
Apart from clinical critical‑care application, this peptide is also widely used in pre‑clinical research to establish hypertension, myocardial hypertrophy and vascular remodeling animal models.
Safety brief note
Major risks include thromboembolic events, arterial thromboses, tachycardia, elevated blood pressure. Monitor arterial pressure continuously during infusion. Not for bolus injection. Use caution in patients with pre‑existing thromboembolic risk.
